Easter afternoon tea at The Royal Horseguards

There’s a distinct foodie theme to this month’s hotel news with tasty Easter treats and new activities to make wine- and cake-lovers salivate. Away from the table, there are new luxury suites to enjoy and a special project to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Last-minute Easter egg-citement

There are plenty of Easter offerings at London hotels this weekend. Among them, The Royal Horseguards has introduced a special afternoon tea menu as well as children’s treats such as Easter bunny macaroons, egg nest cupcakes and egg decorating. While over at Hilton London Metropole, you can try tempting cocoa-based creations at the EG Chocolate Corner in the lobby.

Foodie delights

The Royal Garden Hotel has seen the re-opening of its Park Terrace Restaurant this month after a £1.5 million refurbishment, and it’s celebrating by offering guests a free glass of wine with any two- or three-course meal during April or May.

Waldorf Hilton's Patisserie MasterclassContinuing the foodie theme, Waldorf Hilton will be running patisserie masterclasses from 24 May. Aimed at helping enthusiastic beginners, the hotel’s pastry chef David Conlon will share his top tips for making the perfect cakes.

Wine-lovers will be licking their lips at The Landmark London’s new wine and cheese evenings on the third Wednesday of every month. There are six different tipples to tantalise the tastebuds, complemented by cheeses from a specific country at each tasting in its twotwentytwo restaurant.

Jumeirah Carlton Tower has introduced a ‘gentlemen’s club’ experience featuring a golf simulator and private dining in the on-site Rib Room Bar & Restaurant. The hotel has also announced it will be running a Fitness Retreat in July with weekend sessions providing inspiration and guidance on getting fit and staying healthy.

Suite treats

Next month sees the opening of refurbished suites and apartments from Flemings Mayfair, including a stunning penthouse and a roof terrace. This follows hot on the heels of the launch of a new suite at The Kensington Hotel last month; the Kensington Suite comes complete with its own private decanter bar, a daybed and plunge baths.

There will be a sleep coach on hand to give advice, special spa treatments to indulge in and sleep packages to enjoy. The on-site restaurant, The Northall, has also introduced a new snooze-friendly Sleep Menu featuring essential ingredients for a good night under the duvet.
